Step-by-step instructions
- Open the tool and upload a photo.
Click Choose photo and pick a clear headshot (plain background recommended). The tool will preview your image inside the passport frame (35×45 mm). - Choose output scale (quality).
Select 1× for standard (413×531 px — preferred for 300 DPI) or 2× for higher-resolution output. Use 2× if you plan to crop further or print at larger sizes. - Enter Name and/or Date.
Type the Name exactly as you want it printed. Use the date picker to select a date. Default displayed date format isYYYY-MM-DD. The tool’s default behavior is:- If only Name is entered → print Name.
- If only Date is entered → print Date.
- If both are entered → print both (stacked).
- Control text style and placement.
Use controls to set font family, font size (px), and font color. Pick a position preset (bottom-center, bottom-left, bottom-right, top-center) and use the vertical offset to fine-tune the text location so it does not overlap facial features. - Preview before exporting.
Click Generate Preview to render the final passport image on the canvas. Inspect the placement and legibility of Name and Date, and adjust font size, color, or offset if necessary. - Download or print the final image.
Use Download JPG or Download PNG to save locally. JPG offers smaller file sizes; PNG preserves lossless detail. Use Print to open a print-ready view — set printer scaling to 100% for accurate physical sizing. - Clear and redo (if needed).
Click Clear to reset the tool and start over with a new photo or different text/position settings.
Practical tips
- Use a high-resolution original photo for best results — especially if using the 2× scale.
- Avoid placing text over the eyes, mouth, or other official marks on the photo.
- If you need a different date format, either type it into the Name field or edit the downloaded image in a simple image editor after export.
- Keep the unmodified original photo as a backup before exporting edited copies.
- Everything runs locally in the browser — this helps protect user privacy and prevents accidental uploads.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I change the date format (e.g., DD-MM-YYYY)?
By default the tool uses ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD). If you require a different format, you can either type the desired format into the Name field or we can add a date-format dropdown in the tool on request.
Will the text appear on both JPG and PNG downloads?
Yes — the rendered text is burned onto the image canvas and included in both JPG and PNG exports.
Does the tool crop or let me reposition the photo?
The tool uses a cover-fit center crop by default. If you need to reposition or crop manually (drag to move), request the cropping UI enhancement and it can be added.
